Cartographic modeling of Geographic Information Systems and their role in the stimulation of Change in Land Use: A case Study of Qatif Region in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Main Article Content
Abstract
Geographic information systems have played a major role in modeling the urban growth of cities over successive time periods. The study relies on the method of spatial analysis of satellite visuals that cover Qatif region for several periods of time, with the aim of extracting digital maps of the use of the land and the urban mass of the region in each time period, and then preparing a geographical information base for the study area and conducting spatial analysis to calculate the spatial changes and axes of future urban growth.
